Now That’s
How To
Package A
Mitzvah!
A long-time friend of The Afikim Foundation happened to be
strolling around the exhibition hall at the recent AJOP (Association
for Jewish Outreach Programs) Convention in Baltimore,
Maryland, and wrote and sent this account to us:
“You know what exhibition halls are like: each organization has
a representative manning a table or a booth, each eager to share
their story, product, service or PowerPoint presentation with you.
You get a nice, canvas, carry-bag to fill up with literature, pens,
refrigerator magnets, bookmarks, cd’s, free copies of association
newspapers, hard candy, and mouse pads.
And so it was at AJOP.
Except for one very colorful exhibit called Mitzvah Fair in a Box,
which didn’t have a representative, which I thought was pretty creative.
In fact, there was even a line of people waiting to see what
Mitzvah Fair in a Box was all about. And when I did, I said to
myself, ‘this is a winner.’ Congratulations!”
Displayed as one of the “Best of the Best” at the AJOP Convention,
The Afikim Foundation has just made Mitzvah Fair in
a Box – its creatively innovative and time-saving programming
resource – available for schools, synagogues, camps and outreach
locations.
In a nutshell, Mitzvah Fair in a Box is a compilation of 350 pages
of projects, graphics, templates, scripts, websites, marketing materials
and original manipulatives including 50 custom-designed
decks of Mitzvah Cards, Afikim’s stunning 5' x 7.5' digitally transferred
Kotel Curtain, a 41-piece alef-bet metal cookie cutter
set, a laminated Israel map and an engaging “Mitzvah Wheel
of Fortune” video game.
All together they add up to a dazzling,
character building experience.
Best bet: go to http://www.totally.org/mitzvahfairemail/israelforsample.pdf to view a pdf sample of the booths and we think
you’ll agree that Mitzvah Fair in a Box is an invaluable resource
for families, clubs, organizations, schools, and anyone wanting
an enjoyable, meaningful multitude of ideas to keep children
active in the most instructive, constructive way imaginable.
