Black is a Color BY STAN LEBOVIC
Recognizing and promoting talented individuals who have the potential to positively impact the broader Jewish community, The Afikim Foundation is organizing a national Art/Book Release Tour for Holocaust artist, author and son of a survivor, Stan Lebovic, who paints a deeply personal picture of his quest to wrestle with the darkness that engulfed his father’s world in his recently released, Black is a Color.
Tours of Florida, New York, Chicago, Arizona, California and New England have been scheduled. Lebovic brings 20 self-standing works of art and describes – in an interactive audience discussion – the symbolism in them and his overarching theme of being able to still find hope and beauty in life and mitzvos after facing the depths of evil and suffering. Black is a Color, a magnificent “coffee-table style” book has 22 of his major works of art as well as profoundly powerful essays that elucidate each of the works.
